Bill DecoteauColumbia River Dinosaurs

Lewis and Clark floated within a few dozen yards of where I sit, battling a gigantic 10 foot prehistoric monster. My hands are on fire, my biceps are spent, and I am close to the breaking point. You see, my often cantancerous, but always humorous guide Lou McMinds is asking me if I am a girl and if I need any help with the fish, even though he knows through his countless battles with these monsters that landing one this size from an anchored boat is no simple task.

Bill DecoteauCatching up with the PikeXL pro staff

Last week at the Efftex show in the Netherlands the guys from the Dutch PikeXL fishing team joined the Trophy Tech team at their booth, together with Think Big, Trophy Tech’s distributor in Germany. Right after Kris’ arrival at Schiphol airport the guides took him to a nearby lake for a improvised one and a half hours of fishing. Not planned at all, just the first spot available. 4 guys in a row boat, casting the revoshads resulted in 5 strikes and 2 fish reeled in. Kees just missing a monstrous personal best 48’’ Pike, slipping through Ferry’s fingers due to a broken crosslock.

Bill DecoteauBilly Decoteau hammers 'em at China Lake

As you most likely know tornadoes raged through the Western Massachusetts area a few days ago. These tornado's were in the same area in which I live! Touching down less than a half mile from my house the area was devastated, and then again touching down about 5 miles form my home, the tornadoes destroyed the Main Street in the country town of Monson, MA.

For the last fourteen-years several of my colleagues and I have been venturing down to Venice, Louisiana’s treasured estuary, spending three sunrise to sunset days enjoying the most outstanding largemouth bass and salt water fishing on earth! Yes, I said Venice, Louisiana the same location where the “BP Oil Spill’ occurred this year!

Monster MuskyMonster 50lb Musky Caught on NEW Musky Innovations Double Dawg

So I was getting ready to stick the boat in the garage this morning for the week as I'm headed out of town tomorrow for the next 7 days or so. I get a phone call from a buddy asking if I want to go out today. I said sure of course, "Where do you want to go?" He asked if the bite was hot in my neck of the woods, and I told him, it had gotten a bit slow the last few days. He replied" Well if you want to drive a couple of hours we can go out up here?" Before he could hang up, I jumped in the truck and I was off.

Rick QuadeFishing the Columbia River

White Sturgeon are the largest freshwater fish in the US, and probably the largest freshwater fish in the world. As we soon learned, their power is incredible. Upon getting hooked, these monsters peeled hundreds of yards of drag, often accompanied by jumps taking the fish completely out of the water. It is hard to imagine a 10 foot fish completely out of the water, but this is just what these fish did time and time again.

Thijs van der SandenThijs van der Sanden

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Thijs van der Sanden and I am a 23-year-old predator angler from Holland. Every weekend I am fishing on predators, and the main target is the pike. As you might know, Holland is one of the best places to catch huge pikes!

Since a couple of weeks I am the proud owner of 2 Shad Clones. A friend of mine told me to give them a go on the massive lakes I usually fish.

Rick Quade, Reaction Strike FounderFishing in Spain on the River Ebro

Caught a monster Wels catfish on a Castaic 9" Hard Head Rainbow Trout pattern in the River Ebro in Spain on Monday. The guide estimated that this fish is the 20th largest of all time at 195 pounds and 2.45 meters long (about 8' 4" long). It was also insanely fat and I literally could barely wrap my arms around the fish. 150 pounders are rare, but fish this size are nearly unheard of.

Eddie DillonEddie Dillon Fishes the Chesapeake

Here on the Chesapeake, the big sea run rockfish are moving in and eating shad up to 12 inches. I spent Thursday on the Bay with a few friends and we slow trolled all the channel breaks. Had a shad clone on a down rigger that really produced some awesome results for us.

Our total count for the day was 20 fish, with the average size being in the 35 inch range. My biggest was 47 inches long with a 32 inch girth, weighting in as just over 44 pounds.
